Overview for Parts of the Production Process

Wire Cutting Processing

Wire electrical discharge machining is a non-contact subtractive manufacturing process that uses thin electrically charged wires and dielectric fluids to cut metal parts such as blades, handles, etc. into different shapes.

Grinding Machining

A grinding machine is a tool or piece of equipment used for removing material from a workpiece via abrasion. They typically employ rotating abrasive wheels to shape, smooth, or finish workpieces through grinding. The machining process uses abrasive particles to remove material from a workpiece's surface.

Stonewashed Finish

A stonewashed finish refers to tumbling the blade in an abrasive material. This finish easily hides scratches, while also providing a less reflective nature than a brushed or satin finished blade.

Cryogenic Treating

Cryogenic treatment is a common process designed to enhance the performance of metal blades. Extreme deep freezing increases the service life of knives by improving their resistance to wear. As a one-time treatment, freezing knife blades makes them more durable and less prone to chipping and fracturing under stress.
